There is little known about the intersectional experiences of Brown neurodivergent women. This chapter will draw on the reflections of a third-generation British-born Indian woman, offering a unique insight into her experiences of growing up and working in England, learning about the intersections of her gender, cultural and neuro identities. She revisits her experiences of education, from school to college, followed by university, as an undergraduate mental health nursing student and more recently as a mature postgraduate researcher. The author shares some of the challenges she experienced when practising as a nurse in the NHS, before discovering her own autistic identity. She explains how reasonable adjustments in the workplace have been pivotal to remaining in employment and how they have assisted with overcoming autistic burnout. The author provides recommendations for effectively promoting intersectionality informed neuroinclusive environments in education, work and healthcare.

Dernier calcul : 23/10/2026 08:00.
