Contexte : Les adultes autistes connaissent des taux d'emploi disproportionnellement faibles, façonnés par des obstacles systémiques et structurels qui vont au-delà des compétences individuelles. Bien que la recherche sur l'autisme et l'emploi se soit développée, elle demeure fragmentée entre les disciplines et insuffisamment synthétisée. Combler ces lacunes exige non seulement des données empiriques plus solides, mais aussi une réflexion sur la manière dont les connaissances dans ce domaine sont organisées et partagées. Méthodes : Nous avons analysé 1279 publications sur l'autisme et l'emploi (1982-2025) indexées dans Scopus. Une analyse de cocitation de documents a été menée dans CiteSpace, appuyée par la détection de pics de citations, des superpositions de cartes doubles, l'examen de la productivité des revues et de la collaboration internationale. Résultats : L'analyse a révélé trois grandes étapes de développement : l'intervention centrée sur l'individu, le cadrage sociocontextuel et l'inclusion organisationnelle. Les regroupements thématiques ont montré un passage d'interventions comportementales et fondées sur les compétences vers des approches éclairées par la neurodiversité, mettant l'accent sur la discrimination, le problème de la double empathie et les pratiques d'emploi inclusives. Toutefois, la recherche demeure fragmentée, dominée par des perspectives occidentales et limitée quant aux contributions dirigées par des personnes autistes. Conclusions : Cette revue scientométrique montre que la recherche sur l'autisme et l'emploi est passée d'interventions centrées sur l'individu à des approches plus systémiques et éclairées par la neurodiversité, tout en restant fragmentée entre les disciplines et fortement concentrée dans des contextes occidentaux. Afin de combler ces lacunes, les recherches futures devraient donner la priorité à l'étude au niveau organisationnel (p. ex., les normes en milieu de travail, les pratiques de ressources humaines et les systèmes d'évaluation), renforcer l'intégration entre la psychologie, les études organisationnelles et la recherche sur les politiques publiques, et élargir les conceptions participatives dirigées par des personnes autistes, attentives à la diversité mondiale et culturelle.
