Résumé
La recherche sur l'ecriture des personnes autistes s'est longtemps concentree sur les faiblesses en matiere de complexite structurelle, d'organisation et de capacites de prise de perspective. Plus recemment, la prise de conscience que l'ecriture peut etre une force s'est accrue, comme le suggere la recherche sur les memoires autobiographiques autistiques. Afin d'en savoir plus sur la qualite de l'ecriture des personnes autistes lorsqu'elles utilisent le langage a leurs propres fins, nous nous sommes tournes vers des blogs rediges par des auteurs autistes. Les profils d'utilisation des mots en ligne ont ete analyses chez 30 blogueurs autistes s'etant eux-memes identifies comme tels et 30 blogueurs non autistes apparies selon l'age et le genre, supposes etre neurotypiques (NT). En outre, le contenu des blogs a ete analyse quant a l'eventail des sujets abordes. Les sujets ont ete categorises selon de grands themes, notamment les loisirs courants (p. ex. sports, arts, artisanat), les preoccupations (p. ex. personnes, vehicules, nourriture, machines) et les domaines academiques (p. ex. systemes de croyances, sciences, nombres, histoire). Par rapport aux blogueurs NT, les blogueurs autistes ecrivaient de maniere plus complexe, telle que mesuree par la longueur des mots et des phrases ainsi que par un vocabulaire rare. Les blogueurs autistes ecrivaient souvent sur les sciences ou d'autres sujets abstraits plutot que de discuter d'evenements de la vie quotidienne. Ces resultats suggerent qu'un sous-groupe de personnes autistes, celles qui ecrivent des blogs, est capable d'ecrire dans un style plus complexe que ses pairs NT. Cela peut refleter une orientation intellectuelle ou le fait que les personnes autistes ayant des competences d'ecriture sophistiquees sont celles qui choisissent de tenir des blogs. Sensibiliser au fait que certaines personnes autistes peuvent etre de bons redacteurs sera d'une grande aide pour divers acteurs, notamment les educateurs, les cliniciens, les familles et les personnes autistes elles-memes.
