Résumé Bien que l'alimentation intuitive (IE) soit devenue une cible d'intervention de plus en plus adoptée, les conceptualisations actuelles de l'IE ne se sont pas encore éloignées de la physiologie et de la phénoménologie (neuro)normatives. Les personnes autistes rapportent couramment des comportements alimentaires désordonnés et/ou un bien-être moindre, mais semblent bénéficier d'interventions adaptatives utilisant une approche affirmative. Cet article utilise l'autisme comme exemple de cas afin de résumer les défis liés à la conceptualisation prédominante de l'IE, avant de proposer comment les recherches futures et les pratiques actuelles peuvent être étendues à la population autiste. Les chercheurs sont encouragés à évaluer le cadre complet de l'IE à 10 principes tout en utilisant une approche guidée par la participation. Nous soutenons que des recherches utilisant une méthode mixte sont nécessaires de toute urgence pour explorer de manière exhaustive la (re)conceptualisation de l'IE chez les personnes autistes. Bien que l'IE soit prometteuse pour produire des résultats positifs dans la population autiste, nous examinons les défis potentiels pour la recherche et la pratique en raison de l'accent actuellement mis sur une interoception précise, la conscience et le traitement des émotions, ainsi que le fonctionnement exécutif. Cela suggère la nécessité pour la recherche et la pratique d'intégrer les besoins et les expériences des personnes autistes dans les développements futurs au moyen d'une approche affirmative. Importance publique : l'IE est une intervention efficace pour réduire les comportements alimentaires désordonnés. Les personnes autistes présentent couramment des comportements alimentaires désordonnés et ont des besoins nutritionnels particuliers qui nécessitent souvent une intervention. Toutefois, la compréhension de l'IE au sein de la population autiste est limitée. Des définitions éclairées par la recherche intégrant les perspectives des personnes autistes favoriseront la transposition du cadre de l'IE à cette population sous-représentée.
