Résumé
Cet article soutient que les idéologies capacitistes entravent les tendances vers l'inclusion à une échelle mondiale plus large et au-delà des points de vue anglo-américains, comme l'attestent des publications clés et des législations sur l'éducation inclusive. Je discute également des problèmes, défis et dilemmes générés par ces idéologies capacitistes dans mon contexte professionnel en tant qu'orthophoniste autiste originaire des Philippines. Je conclus par ma réflexion sur la manière dont les praticiens peuvent contribuer à modifier la trajectoire vers des pratiques inclusives émancipatrices éclairées par le paradigme de la neurodiversité. Afin de respecter la préférence des communautés et l'intersection des identités que je représente, cet article utilise un langage inclusif centré sur l'identité (American Psychological Association, 2019; Bottema-Beutel et al., 2020; The Alliance for Inclusive Education, 2021) et ne se conforme pas à des dichotomies clivantes ou anglo-américaines (par ex., la distinction s/Sourd; Kusters et al., 2017; Pudans-Smith et al., 2019) lorsqu'il est question d'élèves ou d'apprenants traditionnellement identifiés par le secteur de l'éducation comme ayant besoin d'une « éducation spécialisée ».
