Abstract

This thesis explores how systems of power and social expectations affect the identity, wellbeing, and belonging of neurodivergent people—specifically autistic ADHD (AuDHD) adults. It highlights both the harms of masking and the power of authentic connection. Through case studies and thematic analysis, the research shows how neurodivergent people resist dominant narratives and build identity in relationship with others, calling for more inclusive, lived-experience-led approaches.

Cited bibliography overview

These indicators describe the bibliography cited by this publication. An author name is counted each time it appears in one cited reference, so the same person can be counted more than once. Names not yet linked to an author already present in AutiHub are treated as unknown, not as non-autistic. Last computed: 17 Oct 2026 01:28.
