De nombreux établissements d’enseignement postsecondaire ont commencé à mettre en place leurs propres programmes de soutien universitaire spécifiques à l’autisme (ASP) afin d’intégrer l’émergence d’étudiants autistes à l’université et d’offrir des soutiens favorisant leur réussite (Longtin dans J Postsecond Educ Disabil 27(1):63-72, 2014), mais on sait peu de choses sur ces programmes. Nous avons mené une recherche exhaustive d’une durée d’un an dans tous les établissements d’enseignement postsecondaire des États-Unis afin d’identifier tous les ASP. Bien que nous ayons identifié un total de 74 programmes situés dans 29 États, nos analyses suggèrent qu’ils ne sont pas accessibles aux étudiants dans de vastes régions du pays. Lorsqu’ils sont disponibles, ces programmes semblent être situés de manière disproportionnée dans des établissements de quatre ans, des établissements publics et dans le Mid-East. Notre étude met en évidence des inégalités fondées sur le type d’établissement et la géographie, et propose également une liste publique complète des ASP.
