Autistic Autism Scholarship Project
The Autistic Autism Scholarship Project is an international collaborative project that provides a public, freely accessible database of academic publications on autism authored or co-authored by at least one autistic person.
The project aims to make autistic people’s contributions to knowledge about autism more visible, accessible and researchable. It provides structured ways to explore authors and co-authors, publications, bibliographic metadata, cited references and collaboration networks.
Bibliographic records are imported from scholarly metadata services and then progressively checked, completed or corrected. Because author attribution in large bibliographic databases can be ambiguous, AutiHub uses additional safeguards such as ORCID identifiers, DOI metadata, Crossref and DataCite records, co-authorship patterns, Semantic Scholar author identifiers and manual review when needed.
The project also examines cited bibliographies when metadata are available, making it possible to reconstruct references, identify cited authors, and produce statistics about the visibility of autistic researchers in the references used by autism-related publications.
Autistic Autism Scholarship Project is supported by a community that helps correct, discuss and progressively improve the information it provides.
The project does not aim to assess or endorse the quality, validity, theoretical orientation or social implications of the works it includes.
