Résumé Les services d'analyse appliquée du comportement se développent rapidement tout en faisant l'objet d'un examen accru de la part des personnes autistes, des familles et des défenseurs, ce qui souligne la nécessité de recherches sur les interventions éthiques, centrées sur la famille et écologiquement valides dans des systèmes de services réels. Le projet PALMS est un essai clinique hybride d'efficacité-mise en oeuvre en cours, financé par le gouvernement fédéral, qui compare le modèle Early Start Denver, une intervention comportementale développementale naturaliste, à l'analyse appliquée du comportement habituelle dans des organismes communautaires aux Etats-Unis. Cet article examine les premiers enseignements tirés des premières années de l'essai afin de décrire les caractéristiques des participants, d'explorer les obstacles et les facilitateurs de la participation à la recherche, et de mettre en évidence des stratégies potentielles pour renforcer l'infrastructure de recherche et la collaboration entre la recherche et la communauté dans les organisations de services, en utilisant un cadre de science de la mise en oeuvre. A ce jour, 18 organismes et 113 prestataires dans 13 Etats ont donné leur consentement. Les difficultés de recrutement et de maintien des participants ont conduit à l'élargissement des critères d'éligibilité et à une mobilisation ciblée, ainsi qu'à une planification continue de la mise en oeuvre avec les organismes afin de réduire la charge et de soutenir l'engagement. Le contexte organisationnel a été examiné à l'aide de l'Implementation Climate Scale, qui évalue la mesure dans laquelle les organisations attendent, soutiennent et récompensent l'utilisation de pratiques fondées sur des données probantes. Les scores indiquaient une forte attention perçue accordée aux pratiques fondées sur des données probantes, mais des récompenses perçues comparativement faibles, et la direction des organismes a rapporté un climat global de mise en oeuvre plus élevé que les prestataires de première ligne. Dans l'ensemble, les résultats soulignent que la réussite de la recherche communautaire sur les interventions pour l'autisme dépend de l'établissement de partenariats durables et réciproques ainsi que de soutiens pratiques à la participation qui s'alignent sur les réalités des services et les priorités de la communauté.
