Résumé
Alors qu'un nombre croissant d'etudiants autistes poursuivent des etudes postsecondaires, il est important de comprendre les soutiens et les obstacles inherents aux differents types d'etablissements. Les colleges d'arts liberaux, avec leurs petites tailles de classe et leurs environnements d'apprentissage personnalises, pourraient attirer les etudiants autistes et leurs familles. Cette etude vise a explorer les avantages potentiels et les defis que le contexte des arts liberaux presente pour les etudiants neurodivers. En utilisant une approche d'etude de cas multiples, nous avons mene des entretiens avec 13 parties prenantes cles, notamment des etudiants, des enseignants et du personnel, dans cinq etablissements d'arts liberaux. Nos resultats sont organises autour de ces cinq themes : le contexte unique des arts liberaux, les implications de la divulgation et du diagnostic, les experiences universitaires, les soutiens sociaux et les dynamiques des relations amoureuses des etudiants autistes.
