Résumé

Les personnes neurodivergentes (ND) presentent des variations dans la communication, les comportements et la cognition, qui offrent a la fois des opportunites et des defis dans les contextes de soins de sante. Les anesthesiologistes peuvent offrir des soins personnalises et empreints de compassion aux patients ND tout au long du processus chirurgical. Toutefois, les connaissances concernant les actions specifiques que les anesthesiologistes peuvent entreprendre pour construire un environnement de soins de sante qui reconnait pleinement et repond aux besoins uniques des patients ND sont souvent limitees. Ce document souligne l'importance d'integrer une communication adaptee et des strategies de soutien tout au long des differentes etapes des soins perioperatoires et intraoperatoires.

Neurodivergent (ND) individuals exhibit variations in communication, behaviors, and cognition, which present both opportunities and challenges in healthcare settings. Anesthesiologists can offer personalized and compassionate care to ND patients throughout the surgical process. Yet, often, there is limited knowledge of the specific actions that anesthesiologists can take to build a healthcare environment that fully recognizes and meets the unique needs of ND patients. This document highlights the importance of integrating tailored communication and supportive strategies throughout the distinct stages of perioperative and intraoperative care.
