Résumé

Le Questionnaire for Autism Spectrum Conditions (Q-ASC) a été élaboré par Attwood et al. (2011) afin d'identifier des profils de symptomatologie de l'autisme sensibles au genre ; de prioriser et d'ajuster l'orientation des interventions cliniques ; et de soutenir des résultats psychosociaux positifs ainsi que le pronostic jusqu'à l'âge adulte. La présente recherche a évalué à titre pilote le Q-ASC auprès des parents de 238 enfants ayant un diagnostic clinique de TSA-niveau 1 (sans déficience intellectuelle ou langagière). L'analyse des données a révélé huit composantes interprétables et fiables du Q-ASC à l'aide d'une analyse en composantes principales. Les comparaisons entre les groupes d'âge et de genre ont mis en évidence des différences moyennes statistiquement significatives des caractéristiques rapportées par les parents. Les résultats de cette étude visent à identifier des améliorations du Q-ASC en vue de l'évaluation future de la sensibilité et de la diversité des présentations de l'autisme chez les enfants et les adolescents de sexe féminin.

The Questionnaire for Autism Spectrum Conditions (Q-ASC) was developed by Attwood et al. (2011) to identify gender-sensitive profiles of autism symptomatology; prioritise and adjust the direction of clinical interventions; and support positive psychosocial outcomes and prognosis into adulthood. The current research piloted the Q-ASC with parents of 238 children with a clinical diagnosis of ASD-Level 1 (without intellectual or language impairment). Data analysis revealed eight interpretable and reliable components of the Q-ASC using Principle components analysis. Comparisons across age and gender groups found statistically significant mean differences of parent-reported characteristics. The findings from this study aim to identify improvements in the Q-ASC towards the future assessment of the sensitivity and diversity of presentations of autism among female children and adolescents.
