Résumé Objectifs Cette étude visait à examiner comment les concepts de coproduction et de co-conception ont été définis et appliqués dans le contexte des soins de santé et des services sociaux, et à identifier l’adoption temporelle de ces termes. Méthodes Une revue exploratoire systématique de CINAHL with Full Text, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, PubMed et Scopus a été menée afin d’identifier les études examinant la coproduction ou la co-conception dans les soins de santé et les services sociaux. Des données relatives à la date et aux définitions conceptuelles ont été extraites. Parmi les 2933 études recensées, 979 articles ont été inclus dans cette revue. Résultats Une carte de réseau des soixante définitions les plus courantes est présentée, ainsi que, grâce à l’examen des citations, huit groupes de définitions et une représentation visuelle de la manière dont ils sont interconnectés et se sont influencés mutuellement au fil du temps. Les résultats supplémentaires étaient les suivants : (i) une augmentation des recherches examinant la coproduction et la co-conception dans les contextes des soins de santé et des services sociaux ; (ii) une augmentation du nombre de nouvelles définitions au cours de la dernière décennie, bien qu’un peu plus d’un tiers des articles inclus ne fournissent aucune définition ou explication du concept choisi ; et (iii) une augmentation du nombre de publications utilisant les termes coproduction ou co-conception sans impliquer les citoyens, les patients ou les usagers des services. Conclusions La coproduction et la co-conception sont conceptualisées de nombreuses manières. Plutôt que de rechercher des définitions universelles de ces termes, les futures recherches appliquées devraient se concentrer sur l’explicitation des principes et valeurs sous-jacents qui doivent être traduits et examinés dans la pratique. Contribution des patients et du public La stratégie de recherche et les résultats pilotes ont été présentés lors d’un atelier en mai 2019 avec des contributeurs patients et publics ainsi que des chercheurs. Les discussions ont éclairé les étapes suivantes. Au cours de la phase d’analyse de la revue, des discussions informelles ont eu lieu une fois par mois avec un patient ayant une expérience de l’implication des patients et du public. Comme cette implication a eu lieu vers la fin de la revue, nous avons convenu ensemble qu’une inclusion en tant qu’auteur risquerait d’être symbolique. Des remerciements ont plutôt été privilégiés. La phase suivante consiste à travailler en tant que contributeurs égaux afin d’examiner les valeurs et principes de la coproduction rapportés dans les définitions les plus courantes.
