Résumé
Les réformes étatiques et fédérales dans le domaine du handicap ont entraîné l'élargissement des soutiens qui favorisent l'inclusion et l'intégration dans le courant dominant de la société américaine. Cependant, les adultes ayant reçu un diagnostic de trouble du spectre de l'autisme (TSA) ne semblent pas avoir bénéficié de ces changements dans la même mesure que ceux n'ayant pas reçu de diagnostic de TSA. Cet article utilise les données de la National Core Indicators Adult Consumer Survey pour examiner les caractéristiques démographiques et les résultats des adultes ayant reçu un diagnostic de TSA qui reçoivent des services des systèmes étatiques de déficiences intellectuelles et développementales (IDD). À partir des données, des approches en matière de politiques et de recherche sont proposées.
