La théorie de la curation sensorielle des médias conceptualise la régulation sensorielle au sein de l'environnement bâti comme une gratification de l'utilisation des médias électroniques et comme un prédicteur des conflits parent-enfant concernant l'utilisation des médias par les enfants. Cet article réplique une enquête initiale auprès d'aidants d'enfants âgés de 3 à 14 ans au moyen d'une enquête de réplication indépendante de N = 754. Comme dans l'étude originale, la curation sensorielle des médias était plus élevée chez les enfants présentant des diagnostics sensoriels (p. ex., autisme, ADHD) que chez ceux n'en présentant pas, et constituait un prédicteur modéré à fort de l'utilisation problématique des médias par l'enfant et des conflits liés aux médias entre adultes et enfants pour tous les enfants. Les Inventaires de curation sensorielle des médias chez l'adulte et l'enfant (MediaSCIs), comportant 48 items, ont fait l'objet d'analyses de réduction d'échelle utilisant les échantillons regroupés (N = 1543) afin de créer des échelles sous forme courte. Les Adult MediaSCI-SF et Child MediaSCI-SF obtenus (12 items chacun) ont montré une bonne fiabilité. Le Child MediaSCI-SF prédisait l'utilisation problématique des médias par l'enfant et les conflits liés aux médias avec autant de robustesse que le Child MediaSCI à 48 items. Les échelles MediaSCI-SF constituent des options parcimonieuses pour mesurer la curation sensorielle des médias.
