Abstract
Gender non-conformity and different sexual identities are highly co-occurring within the autistic population, and autism is common within these groups. Those with multiple minority identities are likely to experience excessive marginalisation, which could potentially lead to active discrimination. LGBTQIA+ individuals are also more likely to have mental health problems. It is therefore vitally important that those who are working therapeutically with individuals within these communities are aware of, and sensitive to, these different identities. This chapter includes case studies to support readers’ thoughts about this important topic.
