Abstract

Psychoeducation aims to share information and guidance around a specific condition. It is an important and recommended form of support for adults diagnosed with autism and ADHD. Nevertheless, in many services across England, psychoeducation is either not available, or the waiting times are extensive. The latter being the case in our service, we began a quality improvement project with several change ideas. One of these was running psychoeducation webinars with the aim to 1) see if this was, in theory, a sufficient form of support for some clients and 2) to explore the satisfaction with the webinar content and format. Webinars were delivered separately for autistic and ADHD clients. One (7%) of the autistic and 3 (11.11%) of the ADHD clients noted that the one-off webinars were a sufficient intervention for them. We discuss difficulties with recruiting clients to the webinars. Overall, attendees were satisfied with the webinars, in terms of their format, content and their role in improving autism/ADHD understanding.
