Abstract

Question: Is there a difference in sensory processing of speech as reflected in speech-ABR and behavioural tests of auditory processing in children with ASD compared to age-matched neurotypical peers? Primary objective: To identify the diagnostic validity and utility of electrophysiological (speech ABR) and behavioural (auditory processing tests) measures to assess sensory processing of speech in autistic children. Secondary objectives: To identify methodological gaps in current assessment practices To evaluate how tolerable these measures are for autistic children in clinical or research settings
